There's plenty of snow, at least a couple of feet at the top of the mountain.
Doesn't look like there would be any problem skiing from the top down to
McGill if you wanted. The trees are white at the top like a postcard.
I skiied around the area called "Meadow" on the old trail maps (starting from
the top parking lot, going north, on the shady side of the mountain).
The snow type was puzzling to me. I could not get the skis (190 cm back
country skis) to run, even pointing straight down steep slopes that normally
would terrorize me. I think it was because the snow was (take your pick) a)
too dry b) too loose c) in too tiny granules, to compress to water under my
downhill weight. I did notice that when I was climbing uphill I did tend to
slide back. I think it was because I was putting more pressure on the skis in
that mode.
There is a sunny slope on the north side of the little open meadow I skiied
down to. The skis slid fine on that.
Anyway, it was beautiful up there. Saw no tracks all day that had been made
since the last snow. It was just more like snowshoeing with long skinny shoes
than skiing. The snow is loose and soft. Saw no ice and very few patches of
light crust.

We had a great day on Wednesday! We brought our little ones up for their first
powder experience and they loved it. 6 inches fell, and there was knee deep in
the right places if you know where to look for it. Our three year old made it
top to bottom three times by herself and without falling. She did a couple of
powder runs with dad and got the hang pretty quickly. As usual, the staff was
great and made our family feel like family.
