The terrain, no lines, few posers, steep runs

This was my second time to Mt. Baldy and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My girlfriend and played hooky from work on Friday to try and go...but the area was closed due to high winds. So we spent the day up at Mtn. High where we went to both the East and West resorts. The East resort was decent with some long alpine runs, but the West resort was terrible.

Arrived at Waterman half day on opening Saturday--It was FANTASTIC! The hill is steep, and wide, and there was plenty of room to ski---people were super friendly, they were BBQing outside for your dining pleasure. We can't wait to go back. Unfortunately, they're only open extended w/e right now, so we have to wait until next Saturday...hope they get some new snow!

Opening day was fantastic, L.A. Times article did a pretty good job describing the scene.

My first time at Waterman, I especially enjoyed Wallbanger and face runs 2 and 2.5.

Thick crust off-piste (1/2 to 3/4" by my estimates); will be interesting to see how/if the snow softens.

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome ba-aack! :)
