I got up there early enough to avoid the traffic, and it was an excellent day of skiing as result. I left shortly after the clouds rolled in because I was tired from only getting a few hours of anxious/excited sleep, and the clouds were making it difficult to see downhill at times. Those two conditions combined seemed too dangerous for me to continue skiing -- but had I the rest and energy, I probably would have skied all day. The bottom runs were a bit rocky in some places, but overall the coverage was really good top to bottom.
If anyone from the Baldy staff is reading this, I would like to suggest making some snow on some portions of the lower runs where it seems the rockiest. I know putting too much into the lower runs can be a loosing battle as it warms, but I am sure everyone would agree, it would be a welcomed addition when the nights are cold coverage is good like it is now. =)
ha!?
