Arrived at 9:30 am to find West parking lot full. A blessing really, as the
East had great conditions, the cold night firming everything up nicely. Good
carving all morning, with some corn and hidden pockets of fluff in the
afternoon. There's a curious development at the upper lodge restaurant --
they're trying seating service only ("no more fast food" said the nice
waiter.) So... after a junior high cafeteria meal of an ice-cold burrito-ish
item and carboard chicken sandwich, we skated away from the "fine dining" and
had a few more sunny runs. All in all, a great early season day.
