There was a storm on February 11 and 12, and I hoped for some powder. When I
arrived at 9 AM on February 13, there were lots of tracks through the trees
from the last two days and it looked great. Unfortunately it must have been
pretty warm on February 12, and froze over night. The runs through the trees
on thunder were icy and the tracks embossed by skiers the day before didn't
move an inch. I hoped that it would soften during the day, but this was not
the case. I therefore stayed on the groomed runs, which were in very good
shape. In particular, I liked "Skyline" - hardpack but great to go fast.
Robin's Run was good too, although there were lots of chunks of ice early in
the morning. Chair 4 was great over noon, but got a bit too soft after 2 pm.
LA was under cloud cover the whole day and I felt privileged to be in the Sun.
