friendly staff, no crowds, fresh snow. this was one of those perfect days
where there is nothing to complain about. i rode the powder in the tree runs
pretty much all day long. when i say "all day", i literally mean all day. i
don't think i ever had to wait longer than 5 minutes to get on a lift (keep in
mind that this was president's day weekend right after a huge powder dump!!!).
i did take a short break from the knee deep powder to take a few runs through
the park. as always, the park staff had the jumps cut to perfection. the mambo
park had about 6 jumps laid out so that it is easy to hit them all before
getting back to the lift.
this isn't the biggest resort, nor is it the closest, but it is definitely
worth the effort to experience the homey atmosphere and to have an entire
resort to yourself. if you ever feel like your southern california ski resort
experience is lacking (ridiculous crowds, unfriendly staff, rude teens who
think they are better than everyone else, high ticket prices...) you will find
the cure to your ski resort woes at june mountain.
