First my complains: I arrived at 8:30 and the line from the ticket counter
went all the way to the parking lot. I took me 45 minutes to get a ticket and
another 15-20 minutes to get on Chair 1. I think I was at the Notch around
10:15. It would have been nice if the Baldy team had at least opened their
third ticket window and started the day a little bit earlier! Until 11, only
Chair 1 and 2 were open. Now the good news: All Chair 1 runs were open. The
snow was packed powder, tons of new snow, but a bit wet and wind-pressed.
Still it was great. I went down "Nightmare" 6 or 7 times, continuing to the
bottom of Chair 1 with no problems. The line on chair 3 (after it had finally
opened at 11:00) was rather long but the runs on pristine powder through the
trees on thunder were worth the wait. After 2 PM, the visibility became rather
bad and it started snowing. When I left at 3:45, it was snowing heavily at the
Notch. At the parking lot, it was a mixture of snow and rain. The next storm
is coming and if it stays cold, next weekend might be outstanding.
