I loved:
POWDER- UNTRACKED - the steeps, the trees, N-I-C-E I'm still trembling with adreneline- AWESOME DAY
I hated:
Tourists. They clog the roads and don't use the pass-me turnouts. What can you do?
Lift/trails closed:
Chair 4 was closed, but who cares!
Liftline waits:
NONE
Quality of moguls:
None- lots of fluff on the steeps.
Jumps/Rails:
Not into that stuff.

POWDER - POW-WOW! POW-WOW!POW-WOW! ONLY SOFT WHITE FLUFFY STUFF all the way down to the parking lot. Last run, I ski right to the van door and took off my boots.
UNTRACKED white, dry fluffy stuff for all runs from the top of Chair 1 to bottom if you know where to look, away from the mainstream. A couple inches fell going up the chair each for every run.
SO NICE- almost like floating on clouds in Narnia.
Today was THE DAY for the Baldy powder hounds that like the steeps off Chair 1. Absolute best day of the year that I have seen yet!
The trees, chutes and steeps had about a foot of fluff- UNTRACKED. Cut my own lines all over- nearly orgasmic. Going too fast? Hit the fluff and keep ripping S's till you can't take it any more- then do it over again! I ONLY SKIED Chair 1 to the parking lot- numerous times. Why go anywhere else, since it seemed like a blizzard on top.
PARADISE FOUND! No wind, great visibility in the trees, no crowds, no tracks, no ice, smooth and easy from top to bottom- N-I-C-E. Better than at the gym for a 3 hour workout-
MT BALDY is the hidden treasure for us cheapskates who can and love to ski, but don't have the time or money to go to the Sierras. No better challenge in Southern Cal- Big Bear or Mt. High has nothing that compares (Waterman is almost as good, but a longer drive). Go ANYWHERE at BALDY, if you love natural conditions, nothing is off limits- Make sure you have bash protection, since rocks and trees exist (but can be avoided).
Forget the snobs, the long drive, the parking hassles, and the lift-lines, and ski with the most humble bunch of regulars who don't brag, they just do it (until it hurts)- most of guys are grey-beards, and not into the gymnastics equipment and groomers. No frills, just sold, natural back-country, no apologizes, real mountain skiing, real close. If you need a fast fix for the fresh stuff, BALDY RULES!!! SKI IT! (If you can- all it takes attitude and ability) Baldy is the best, but not for the timid. Come up midweek as soon as it snows and you will not be disappointed, if you can. 2008 has been THE BEST in years!!!! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
The Mt Baldy Club Card is the way to go with $15 skiing ANY DAY-
