Only 300 vertical open.Lift/trails closed:
The poma from the bottom and all of the associated steeps.Liftline waits:
None.Quality of moguls:
None.Snow started out harpacked but softened to slush by noon, with occasional thin
spots. The base is closer to 12-24 (Sunrise reporting 30-40).
The poma is shut down until they get the cable inspected - I doubt that will
happen this year. That means only 300 vertical of green and easy blues are
open. Still, I would rather ski 300 vertical with no lift line than 1200
vertical with a half-hour wait.
The parking lot had twelve cars, and only ten people were ever on the hill at
once.

Only major change from 2007-2008 (re-opening year) was that "No Name Trail" under chair 3 was renamed "Brien's Shoot"

Sierra Summit is located at Huntington Lake in the Central Sierra about 50 miles East of Fresno off Rt. 168. Real fun mountain, great family atmosphere and inexpensive lodge (with cozy apres bar) located at the base. As the crow flies it is about 20 miles southwest of Mammoth Mtn, which means it gets plenty of snow.
