Bear the cool equipment, Summit has better natural jumps

We spent some time at both Bear and Summit on Saturday. The surface was in worse condition that last weekend. Both places had mostly machine groomed granular on top of some serious hard pack, that was icy early. I wonder, did they get a bit of rain last week?

Conditions softened throughout the day, but I don't think the temps hit last week's highs. The east side of summit remained mostly pleasant through the afternoon, never reaching the "mashed potato" state.

The crews up there are masters of the engineered surface; but without a natural refresher, I don't have high hopes for the surface in the near term.

Wish I had gotten up there

Wish I had gotten up there this year.

I did, had a great time!
